Literacy and topic; toys and Gods!

What a fun week!

In literacy, the children of 4R have been designing and naming their own toy. To become familiar with what makes a toy fun, they played lots of different games and chose their favourite. They then wrote down why this game was their favourite and we discussed what makes a good game. This will lead to the children creating an advertisement for their toy next week.

In topic, the children have been learning about Roman Gods and Goddesses. They designed their own top trumps cards and rated their Gods on power, importance, skills and weapons. They then played against each other to see who had the strongest cards.

Puzzle poems

In 4R, we have been writing our own puzzle poems about a part of our body.

Can you guess which part of the body each poem is about?

Parent celebration

Last week, we had our parent celebration and we designed our own Islamic prayer mats and made Ramadan promises.

Thank you to all the adults who attended.

We had some great feedback, for example:

“There’s a nice range of work on display that the children are proud of.”

“It’s nice to have an opportunity to see what children are doing in school and share an activity.”

“It’s good to be involved in what my child is learning and watching them in the classroom setting.”

“Class were all engaged, we felt welcome.”

“Everything was good, kids seem to enjoy it.”

I see angles all around me!

Last week, 4R learned all about different types of angles; right, acute, obtuse, straight and reflex.

We used our angle eaters to search around the classroom looking for different types of angles.

We found lots!

Recount sequencing!

In literacy, we have been sequencing our recount of our time on the desert island.

We used our facial and body expressions to accurately capture our feelings at different points.

Well done everyone!
