Great New Moston Bake Off

This week 5W have been learning about the importance of nutrition and the different food groups. They were really engaged and have researched about signature dishes around the world. They have also been busy making their own bruschetta which they got to taste and then evaluate. It was definitely a mixed reaction with some children loving them and some children not. However, as you can see they were all really proud of what they made. Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, watch out!!!

Check out 5W’s amazing PE skills! We have introduced bench ball, so have been playing little mini games and introducing different skills to improve their game. Here they are playing small possession games learning how to find space and pass and move! They were excellent! Well done guys!

Star Of The Week

This weeks teacher award went to Lilli Childs for an amazing piece of Literacy, creating Alan Peat sentence structures.

Lilli completed all of her learning and then added her own independently and they were all correct.

Thank you Lilli – we are all very proud of you

Mr Wilson, Mrs Johnson and class 5W.

HOOK DAY – Natural disaster dome

Today, as part of our topic, we had an exciting morning. We got to experience what being in a earthquake, hurricane and tsunami would be like. We  found out  lots of new information about natural disasters and why they occur.

It was very dark in the dome so unfortunately you couldn’t see 5W on any of the pictures.

I’m sure today’s activity will really help us with our learning throughout the topic. The children certainly seemed interested.

Hello 5W!

Here are just a few reminders for you in year 5.

Please make sure that you have your PE kit in school every Monday as some days (maybe due to the weather) we may have to swap it around. You can take it home on Friday to wash.

Learning logs will be given out on Friday and will need to be brought back in on Thursday. Please make sure you complete all your homework and do your very best on every piece of learning.

You need to make sure you read at least three times a week to an adult at home and get your learning log or planner signed each time you read.

And finally, please make sure you have your planner in school every day as we will be using them in our lessons.

Thank you

Mr Wilson
