We have spent this week looking at fractions; the classroom was turned into a pizza parlour so we could order pizzas, make orders and investigate pizza as a whole, half and quarter.

At the end of the week we had a pizza as a treat!

Our topic this half term is based around Florence Nightingale; we were lucky enough to get a visit this week and learn about her life. She told us about her nicknames and her schooling with a Governess, we even got some lessons with the Governess – piano, painting, sitting and standing properly and sewing!

Florence then took us on a journey to Crimea where we pretended to be nurses and injured soldiers.

The Big Bad Wolf

The Big Bad Wolf visited our classroom overnight this week and dropped his diary; we had a sneak peak before Miss Champ spilled a drink on it!

The children helped recreate the diary by taking a page each and writing what happened each day. We left the diary out for the wolf to collect this weekend; some pages of our diary can be seen on our working wall in the classroom.

Our first week in Willow Class has flown by! We have been up to lots of exciting things including: recognising and ordering numbers to 20; English learning around the story The Three Little Pigs; independent learning; our first Spanish lesson; exploring Florence Nightingale; and our class bear Jeffrey 🐻 (named by the children) went home with our first star of the week!
